Who we are


Gary Gillan, the Director of CPS, has been involved in project management for over 20 years and currently works as an independent consulting Project Manager within the construction industry.

He holds a both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Construction Management from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland. During his master’s Gary worked with Health and Safety Executive in the UK (the equivalent of OH&S in Canada) to complete an important health and safety study into safe working at height. It was during this time he discovered his passion for education.

Gary has been involved in instruction and curriculum development for Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This included taking on the role of ‘master reviewer’ for all 23 project management course offerings for the update from the PMBOK® Guide – Fourth to Fifth Editions.

Gary also works with the Project Management Institute Southern Alberta Chapter (PMI®-SAC), having written their PMP®/CAPM® Exam Preparation Workshop Course, and was elected as Vice President for Professional Development; a role which he will serve from January 2014 – December 2015.

Gary has also represented CPS as a guest session speaker at the PMI®-SAC Professional Development Conference in 2012, 2013 & 2014. To view these presentations click on the corresponding year.
